Each day we are presented with a choice: to either embrace the growth mindset or remain complacent in daily activities believing improvement will show up in spite of minimal efforts. This year’s conference theme, Focus on Improvement, is a reminder to prioritize the vision of success for federal education programs serving disadvantaged students. American psychologist Abraham Maslow coined the phrase, “One can choose to go back towards safety or forward towards growth.” In order to maximize one’s potential in helping every child achieve at high levels, growth must be chosen again and again, and fear must be overcome. This session will challenge attendees to reflect on their current performance both personal and professional, motivate change agents to establish a new destination point and provide tips to aid attendees in soaring to higher heights. Transformation is only obtainable when the mind is given permission to change course, so let's connect, create and charter new paths!
