ESEA Management - A Regional Approach
To provide more timely support to school districts, the Maine Department of Education’s ESEA Federal programs team implemented a regional management approach where each member of the ESEA team acts as a regional manager and contact person for specific regions of the state. In addition to their role as regional program manager, each team member serves as a director for a specific Title. Each team member is cross-trained in all ESEA titles, but specifically trained in one Title. This presentation will describe how the ESEA federal team uses a collaborative and regional approach to support local educational agencies and school districts with all ESEA matters. Components of the presentation would include the transition from a single title structure to a regional manager structure, the process for cross-training ESEA team members and the delivery of regional technical assistance provided to local school districts around ESEA programming, compliance, monitoring, and finance.
