Clearwater Valley Elementary is focused on the "whole child" and understands the culture of the community.
- Describe specific programs in place to ensure that families are involved in the success of your school and students.
- The school holds annual events for families such as family math and reading nights, book fair, PTA sponsored events, and award assemblies.
- Describe the most successful activity your school has initiated to strengthen ties to your community.
- The school has worked hard to initiate relationships with other community groups. The community has a new group Valley Education Support Team that has supported new technology at Clearwater Valley Elementary. The Nez Perce Tribe has given us numerous grants that have support technology and counseling at the elementary school. The school is also fortunate to have numerous committed parent volunteers that support student learning.

- All students receive CORE instruction in their general education classroom. In addition to the CORE instruction, students receive small group intervention instruction or individualized instruction from their general education teachers, Title I staff, and special education staff.

- Clearwater Valley Elementary school has three Title I staff members to support improvement efforts. Title I funds have also been used for purchasing intervention materials and for professional development.

- The school has had regional math specialist deliver professional development to the staff. The school has had trainers from adopted curriculum company support teaching and student learning. The school staff has dedicated time every day to work with grade level team members and weekly time to work as a staff.

- All students are benchmark tested three times per year. Students below the 25th percentile are progress monitored. The staff has weekly Response to Intervention meetings to review data and interventions of students. Students are regrouped according to data.

Clearwater Valley elementary's school culture is welcoming and friendly to all students, parents, community members, and staff. The school is focused on the "whole child" and understands the culture of the community.
The school has built a schedule focused on teacher collaboration time and encouraged sharing of ideas and students.
