FY 2021 Notice Inviting Applications for High School Equivalency Program (HEP) and College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) Competitions Published in Federal Register Monday, November 23, 2020

The Office of Migrant Education is pleased to announce that the Notice Inviting Applications (NIAs) for the 2021 High School Equivalency Program (HEP) and College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) competitions has published in the Federal Register. The application period will be open for 60 days from the Notices posting in the Federal Register. You may view the final HEP and CAMP NIAs through the links provided below.

Electronic Applications for New Grants

Applications will be available via www.grants.gov by Friday, November 27, 2020. We strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Grants.gov system at www.grants.gov and strongly recommend that you register early and submit early. Applicants are required to follow the Common Instructions for Applicants to Department of Education Discretionary Grant Programs, published in the Federal Register on February 13, 2019 (84 FR 3768) and available at www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2019-02-13/pdf/2019-02206.pdf, which contain information on how to submit an application. The HEP and CAMP opportunity numbers are provided below.

Pre-Application webinars

The Office of Migrant Education will offer a general pre-application webinar for the 2021 HEP and CAMP competition. The same presentation will be offered via webinar on two dates:

  • Monday, November 30, 2020 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time
  • Tuesday, December 1, 2020 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time (Repeat)

 

Please note that WebEx now requires a password for all online Webinar presentations. Please see below for the password for both Pre-Application Webinars:

The webinars will assist potential applicants to complete their submissions for the 2021 competition. The general pre-application webinars will address the same material and cover both the HEP and CAMP applications.

About the Author

Patrick Rooney is the Director of two offices--Evidence-Based Practices Assessment and Accountability and School Support and Accountability within ED’s Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. Before this recent appointment, Mr. Rooney was the Deputy Director of the Office of State Support.  Prior to joining the Office of State Support, Mr. Rooney worked in the Implementation and Support Unit, where he helped lead the work of the Reform Support Network, providing technical assistance to states implementing comprehensive Race to the Top reforms, and the Race to the Top Assessment program, which provided grants to groups of states to develop new assessments aligned to state’s college- and career-ready standards. Mr. Rooney also worked in the DC Office of State Superintendent of Education, where he was a senior policy advisor and worked on a wide variety of K-12 issues in the District of Columbia.
