There are significant coordination and collaboration requirements in ESSA Title I for services provided under Title I with services provided under other ESSA titles and other laws. This presentation examines those collaboration requirements as they relate to ELs experiencing homelessness. Students in homeless situations may not be aware of all the educational services that are available and to which they are entitled. Due to language and culture barriers, this is especially true for English Learners in homeless situations. This presentation provides helpful suggestions of ways District Homeless Liaisons can coordinate services for ELs in homeless situations with EL programs available through Title I and Title III. This presentation also discusses the Civil Rights required educational services that must be provided to all ELs regardless of their home living situation.
