Join a public conversation about what equity in schools means and how education leaders can mobilize others towards that goal. Discuss how each and every child—especially those who are traditionally marginalized—can be welcomed and valued members of your local schools and given timely access to high quality education and support they need to achieve academic and social success. Hear unique perspectives on equity represented in research and practice related to restorative practices implementation in schools and a schoolwide integrated framework for transformation of opportunity, access, resource allocation, and culture. As your next step toward equity for all student groups come explore your own local contexts and deeply examine your often long held practices and beliefs about who should, who can, and who will succeed within your school. Expect diverse perspectives coming together to achieve more equitable education for all student groups.

Tuesday, February 4: Amy McCart will be signing copies of her book outside room A308, beginning at 12:30pm.
