Linda Cavazos, Ph.D., Executive Director of ELLAS Consulting (English Learner Leadership Advocacy Support), is a national biliteracy expert who guides effective instruction and intervention for English Learners (ELs). She serves as a content expert for state Departments of Education, local education agencies, and national groups. She has written broadly on evidence-based practices for ELs. She is a technical assistance provider and researcher with 32 years experience supporting the needs of ELs. She formed and led the English Learners Research Alliance for the Institute of Education Sciences, Regional Education Laboratory SW. Dr. Cavazos conducts research on ELs, MTSS, CLRP, and reading. She received her doctorate in Multicultural Special Education from the University of Texas at Austin.
