Jason Miller currently serves as Executive Director of Elementary, Early Learning, and Federal Programs at the Washington state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. He has worked in education for the more than 25 years, including his time as a teacher at the elementary, secondary, and postsecondary levels. Since 2016, Jason has worked for WA state overseeing the ESEA programs, monitoring process, and the consolidated grant application process. Jason has served in various capacities on the NAESPA Board since 2018. Early in his career, Jason worked in Washington, D.C., at National Geographic Society’s film archive. He earned a master’s degree in education from George Mason University in Virginia and enjoys spending time with his wife and four boys exploring the outdoors.

Shoua Vang is the Financial Manager for the State of Michigan, Department of Education (MDE), Office of Educational Supports, Financial Unit. Shoua ensures that approximately one billion dollars of state and federal grant funds are effectively administered according to state and federal laws, statutes, and regulations. She works collaboratively with other units such as the Special Populations Unit, which handles populations of students such as English learners, immigrant, migratory, homeless, etc., and the Regional Unit which is responsible for direct LEA and PSA support to implement strategic directives for improving funding availability in support of student achievement throughout the state of Michigan. Shoua’s team provides LEAs and PSAs the necessary technical assistance, support, and guidance to assist with planning and budgeting their state and federal funds to ensure effective programming and operational uses. Shoua earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and has over thirteen years of professional financial accounting experience. Shoua has served as the Region 3 alternative representative on the NAESPA Board for the past 6 years. She enjoys music, golfing, gardening, and spending time with family. She currently resides in DeWitt, Michigan with her husband and their dog.
