Developed by the Minnesota Center for Reading Research at the University of Minnesota, Path to Reading Excellence in School Sites (PRESS) is a research-based framework for reading intervention in elementary grades. We help schools refine their MTSS/RtI approach, providing professional learning and resources for data-driven decision making and tiered interventions in K-5 reading. PRESS provides skill-based, targeted interventions in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Our data-driven process supports the systematic use of screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring data to select appropriate interventions targeted to students’ needs.
