Title I funds have supported May Valley's improvement efforts by providing teachers and instructional assistants who deliver more individualized, intense instruction by way of smaller group size and teacher collaboration. Teachers are offered the opportunity to attend content specific professional development activities. Classroom instruction/delivery has been enhanced by purchasing technological equipment. Additionally, library and classroom sets of books have been provided.

- In November 2012 it was announced that May Valley Elementary was one of ten schools in the state of Kentucky to become a participant in the Toyota Bornlearning Academy. This academy is presented by Toyota of KY, Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence and the United Way of KY. This is an innovative program that meets the need of early childhood parental education. This school based academy consists of six workshop sessions that provide parents with the tools to help their children succeed in kindergarten and beyond. In essence, this program teaches parents and caregivers how to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities.
- What is the single most important factor in the success of your school that others could replicate?
- The single most important factor in the success of May Valley that others could replicate is the belief that all students can learn at high levels. We set very high expectations, not only for ourselves as educators, but also for our students.

- The initiative that has had the greatest positive effect on student achievement was not conducted in a short span. It was a focused and intentional process. Teachers, administrators and support staff work together as a team to ensure each and every student reaches his/her full potential.

- May Valley Elementary promotes a positive school culture by instilling the belief in ALL students that they can learn at high levels. Goal setting and motivational strategies are implemented to increase student achievement. All stakeholders, teachers, staff and students give 110% effort every day, all day long.
