An Exceptional Partnership: How a Virginia School System Achieves Results

This session highlights the successful collaboration within Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) between the Office of School Support (OSS), the Title I office, and Centre Ridge Elementary School, a Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) federally identified school. Centre Ridge Elementary, a Title I school with a diverse student body, was designated as a TSI school in March 2024 due to issues with Chronic Absenteeism (CA) of their Hispanic students. Participants of this session will learn how these teams leveraged their expertise in school improvement to develop a continuous school improvement plan with school leaders through a comprehensive needs assessment driven by student data. The session will present evidence, strategies, and lessons learned from this process, including the ways in which Title I supports schools in making judicious decisions regarding their budgets.
