Bullet Journaling for Teaching: Keeping Up With the Kardashians

Educators constantly live by their planners; we are known multi-taskers. If you are a person who likes to make To-Do lists and/or create art, this is the perfect mashup for you! Learn how to take the basic bullet journal concept and make it work for you. The past few years have been more mentally taxing than ever for educators, we need to prioritize our time and mental health. Utilizing bullet journaling helps with mental health, de-stresses you, and allows for prioritization of your to-do lists. Let creativity guide our path to better mental health. Some have difficulty focusing and being goal-oriented, especially students/teachers with ADHD. Utilizing tools in bullet journaling can create short-term achievable goals, allowing students/teachers to unlock creativity while filtering thoughts, prioritizing to-do items, and reflecting on habits that could be changed.

As an experienced educator, I have taught lessons on bullet journaling to a wide variety of classrooms in my district, as well as staff members. I have seen bullet journals used as capstone projects for students in an International Baccalaureate high school, as well as a component to a mindfulness high school elective class. I have also started bullet journaling clubs at the middle school level and offered after-school sessions for staff members. With over seven years of personal experience in bullet journaling, I have seen how it helps with mental health, de-stresses you, and allows for prioritization of your to-do lists. I can provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to personalize their planners and make them work for students, while also approaching it from a standpoint of self-care and mental health. Additionally, I can help participants explore the world of digital bullet journaling and create a Google Slide deck journal with hyperlinks to different sections.
