Collaboration across all federal programs is becoming an increasingly important element of work at the federal, state, and local levels, as evidenced by the multi-program approach recently implemented by the newly formed Office of State Support at the U.S. Department of Education. Learn about collaboration plans and initiatives underway and in the works from representatives of four major federal program associations, including their successes and challenges. And, discover how you and your organization can become involved.

Bob Harmon

Bob Harmon is currently the Chief Executive Officer for the National Title I Association (NASTID), Bob served at the state-level for 15 years, most recently as Assistant Superintendent for Special Programs & Federal Accountability in Washington State.
Denise Ling

Denise is the Director of Federal and State Programs with the Berkeley County School District in Moncks Corner, SC. Serving in a variety of roles, she is now President of NAFEPA—a 3000+-member organization that supports educators who work with federal programs at the district- and state-level.
Frank Podobnik

Frank Podobnik is the Special Education Director for the state of Montana and is the current President of the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE). Frank is beginning his third year on the NASDSE board, and has worked in the field of education for 21 years.
Veronica Tate

Veronica Tate is the Director of Prog. Admin. & Acct. at the Virginia Dept. of Ed. Among her responsibilities are oversight of technical assistance to districts in implementation of programs under ESEA; allocation and management of funds; and design of accountability measures and related policy.
Charlotte "Nadja" Trez

Nadja is the President for the NCSTIIID. Nadja has been an ELL educator, linguist, and language practitioner at the district, state, & international level for 20 years. She is very passionate about high quality instruction and dedicated to a formative evaluation process for ELLs.
