Dr. Olmstead leads the CA SUMS initiative through the Orange County Department of Education in partnership with Butte County Office of Education and the SWIFT Education Center. In just two years, this partnership has begun building capacity among leaders from all 56 County Offices of Education and local educational agencies serving 4500 buildings with the foundations for MTSS. Dr. Olmstead was instrumental in securing this statewide leadership role and continues to be a thought leader and effective change agent for systems alignment.
