An Innovative Approach to Building the Capacity of Parent and Families

Saturday February 2, 2019
12:00 - 1:00 PM
Grand Ballroom 2501 C

ESSA, Title I, Part A statute states that schools MUST fulfill a laundry list of building capacity requirements that outlines how you will build and develop partnerships with your families to help students achieve the state's high standards. The goal of building capacity eclipses programs and even statute; it is about establishing partnerships among the school, parents, and the community with the priority of improving student academic achievement. Attendees will learn how to move from meeting the intent of the law to collaborating effectively with parents, families, and communities. This session will provide the blueprint and tools to construct and implement an innovative program that builds the capacity of all stakeholders. Extensive handouts provided.
