The Making of The Alan Shepard Project: Elementary Edition

Thursday January 31, 2019
1:30 - 2:30 PM
Grand Ballroom 2501 C

The Making of The Alan Shepard Project: Elementary Edition is a behind-the-scenes look at how state, school, and classroom leaders joined forces on their mission to lead the world in the success of each student. The audience will be taken backstage to see how the true story (humble and honest) of a school’s journey to the moon (Kansans Can School Redesign) has unfolded. From pitch (the announcement of our selection as a Mercury 7 Redesign School) to liftoff (full implementation of the plan), four of the leaders describe their roles, trials (ones caused by us and ones out of our control) and tribulations (some by design and some by sheer luck) as well as the rising action (experiences) and turning points (strategies) in making their school’s new vision a reality.
