Susan Bergman has been the AVID State Director for thirteen years and prior to that was the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Mount Vernon (WA) School District where she also served as AVID District Director, and managed several Entitlement grants. In her current role, she has collaborated with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to ensure that districts using Entitlement dollars for AVID are in compliance with Federal guidelines. She is a graduate of the University of Washington Danforth Educational Leadership Program and holds a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University.
