This session will begin with a brief overview of the McKinney-Vento Education of Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) program, IDEA, and the current supplemental ARP-HCY funding. This overview will be followed by major themes of intersection across IDEA and EHCY. This will include specific examples of connecting and collaborating from Virginia, including data analyses that compare graduation and academic outcomes for students with disabilities experiencing homelessness with other subpopulations. Virginia efforts to use ARP-HCY funds to address the gaps identified and plans for subsequent research will be described. Further, how these processes can be applied to support other underserved populations will be discussed.
