What’s Your P.L.A.N? You Won’t Learn to Drive in A Parked Car! In this 60 minute powerful engaging workshop, school leaders will learn the true inspiring story of Nancy Lopez, what it took for us to design a plan for our English Learners to successfully sign our “What’s Your Plan?” banner, and how we collaborated with all members of our school community to inspire and support our EL's and families to disengage with doubt and engage in learning. In other words, we taught them how to be PROUD, be LOUD, be AMBITIOUS, and NEVER GIVE UP. You will walk away with academic accommodations, social and emotional resources, and confidence boosters to immediately infuse into your school systems. We are ALL Educators of EL's, and this workshop will supply you and your school community with the tools you need to connect and support them.

Andrea Bitner

Andrea Bitner is an educator, author, and speaker. She lives in Philadelphia, PA. She has worked with students in grades K-12 throughout her twenty-four years in public education with English Learners from here in the United States, and all around the world. Her first book, “Take Me Home,” was published by Austin Macauley in July of 2021. "Take Me Home" is the true story of 11 of her former EL students who give a first-hand account of what it's really like to become bilingual in America. She is at Teach Better Ambassador, and has also contributed to Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld's book "Growing Language and Literacy," in addition to Dr. Rick Jetter's "100 No-Nonsense Things that ALL School Leaders Should STOP Doing Now."
