Paul is the leader of the Safe and Supportive Schools Group within the Office of Safe and Healthy Students.  The Office of Safe and Healthy Students administers, coordinates, and recommends policy for improving quality and excellence of programs and activities that are designed to: provide financial and technical assistance for drug and violence prevention activities and activities that promote the health and well-being of students in elementary and secondary schools, and institutions of higher education. Prior to coming to the US Department of Education, Paul worked as a senior administrator within the higher education community, taught middle school, and served as a principal.
