Texas Title I Capacity Building Initiative: Best Practices in Action

Take a look at best practices in action in Texas schools! Attend this engagement session to learn about the Texas Title I Capacity Building Initiative, funded by Texas Education Agency and produced by Region 10 Education Service Center. The project features a website that connects exemplary research, tools, and videos to the Texas Critical Success Factor framework. It includes profiles submitted by Texas Reward Schools highlighting their successes, as well as videos of best practices in action from selected schools around the state. This presentation will be presented by a regional project manager, and a featured Title I Reward School principal from Judson ISD. The session will focus on student and staff engagement in the continuous improvement process. Participants will engage in table discussions on these topics as they contribute their own ideas to be collected and share with the group.

Toni Garrett

Toni Garrett, a former Title I campus principal, has worked at Region 10 Education Service Center for eleven years, providing support for Title I, Part A and school improvement. Currently she manages the Title I Capacity Building Initiative, a statewide grant funded by Texas Education Agency.
Leticia Govea

Leticia Govea has worked over 17 years in the field of public education holding both state and district level positions. Her experience spans across state and federal programs and she takes great pride in building personal relationships with the schools and districts she serves. A product of public education, Leticia is committed to the success of all students.
Yvonne Munoz

Yvonne Munoz has served Crestview Elementary for 14 years as teacher, assistant principal, and now as principal. She received her BA from UTSA and Master's in Leadership from Concordia University. Administrator of the Year 2014-2015, she currently serves on a number of district committees.
