This interactive session provides participants with a deeper understanding of 2 CFR Part 200, the Uniform Guidance.  Topics addressed will include:  grantee monitoring responsibilities, key changes in cost principles, tips for strengthening internal controls and assessing audit readiness.  Links to key resources and additional training materials will be shared.  Questions prior to the session are welcome by email at:

David Downey

Mr. Downey has 20 years of experience working with formula and discretionary grants.  Mr. Downey has trained over 80,000 applicants, grantees, Federal and State staff on all facets of the grants process.  Mr. Downey has played a key role in the Uniform Guidance Implementation.
Chuck Laster

Mr. Laster has 35 years experience at the local, State and national level as a teacher, administrator and with the U.S. Department of Education (ED) as a program administrator.  Currently leads ED in development and implementation of audit policy, resolution and audit follow-up.
