"Mr. Reed’s STEAM Lab" was created by Joe and Tish Reed, retired educators with over 60 years experience between them. They share a passion for anything and everything science. Joe loves to ignite the curiosity of students with hands-on, inquiry based explorations and Tish loves to find ways to integrate science into all subject areas. Joe and Tish have created online videos of STEAM challenges and activities to support and enrich classroom instruction and after school programs. All videos are NGSS aligned and each challenge utilizes easy to find materials. Step by step instructions for all activities are included in the videos. Many of the videos also contain a literature and art component. Each video also includes is a “Teacher Resources” document which includes links to non-fiction text and additional videos, and where applicable, math, art, and music activities. The goal of "Mr. Reed's STEAM Lab" was to create STEAM Lab videos that would be easy for teachers and support staff to implement. The program facilitates easy implementation of high interest STEAM lessons without having to take the time to do hours of searching for resources.
