Renew and Reimagine Robust Individualized Approaches to Reading Intervention

This presentation will focus on renewing and reimagining reading intervention through learning science. The session will cover new brain science and outcome research on data-driven robust individualized approaches to intervention. The emphasis will be on review of intervention approaches that consider SEL and ELL factors, especially relevant post-pandemic. Also covered will be the importance recognizing and providing the resources required for full implementation and long-term sustainability. The presentation will include urban district-wide evidence on neuroscience-based interventions shown to meet both students' learning and behavioral needs as well as providing resources for teachers and other personnel. Finally, an emphasis on equity will be discussed as an important consideration for determining best practices for reading intervention.
