Solutions for Educators Working with Male Students of Color who have Experienced Trauma

Misbehavior is the language of trauma and affects educators, parents and students in different ways. This session will focus on strategies and solutions that work even with those having difficulty adjusting. Participants will learn how trauma affects children and how to overcome it. It's important to understand that brokenness, pain and regret exist. Domestic violence and child abuse is on the rise. Trauma awareness starts with self before being passed on to your colleagues, parents and students. Some educators find themselves living in fear daily with their interactions with students. This interactive session will give strategies on how to control emotions and how to turn hard skills into soft skills. Join this session and learn techniques educators can use right away.
