Collective Action For Students: City Year, Growing Together, and Tulsa Public Schools
What does it look like to bring families, community members, and organizations together to transform how schools support students? How can collaboration achieve the greatest impact for students? This session will explore a case study from Tulsa Public Schools of what transformational partnerships look like in Sequoyah Elementary School. Within this highly diverse and traditionally low-income community, Growing Together is bringing together families, teachers, and education partners like City Year to change outcomes for kids. Title I schools in this Tulsa neighborhood harness the power of collective impact to bring research-based partners like City Year into their schools to provide holistic student supports and interventions. Unpack the theory of change behind this model, learn how partners collaborate at the schoolhouse and system level towards aligned goals, and reflect on how aspects of this work could translate to your home schools, districts, states, and communities.
One or more presenters on this session represent an organization selling products or providing services to the ESEA market.
