Thursday January 31, 2019
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
2503 TEST

Explore a research-based approach to curricular integration that capitalizes on the synergies between science and literacy. Developed collaboratively by UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science and Graduate School of Education, research studies have shown that this instructional model provides gains for students in science knowledge while supporting high-need learners in developing academic language. Through exemplars, participants will experience strategies designed to support all students in the understanding of science content and the development of a set of literacy and cognitive skills that are generative and transferable across disciplines.
