Friday February 1, 2019
1:00 - 2:30 PM
2503 TEST

Imagine a cadre of parents working as Parent and Family Engagement facilitators providing parent-centered training and assistance at no cost to districts. Envision Title I parents planning and hosting a Statewide Title I Family Conference attended by over 500 adults and children every year. And this same group of parents writes, directs and performs a series of videotaped skits illustrating do's and don'ts for schools hosting parent and family activities. This interactive workshop will illustrate how the Pennsylvania Title I State Parent Advisory Council, supported by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, developed and accomplished these innovative projects designed to increase student achievement by strengthening Parent and Family Engagement. Participants will learn about the process and challenges included in a statewide vision, and will come away with an understanding of how to implement Parent and Family Engagement focused services in their schools, districts and states.
