Rebecca earned a Master’s Degree in Education from San Francisco State University with a focus on English language learners’ language development in mathematics. She taught at public elementary schools in Title I schools with majority ELL populations for 12 years, and was an academic literacy and English Learner coach at a K-5 Title I bilingual elementary school. She earned the English Language Learner Coach of the Year for Alameda County in 2009. She has been a presenter and teacher leader for California Reading and Literature Project as well as presenter for integrated science and literacy curriculum approaches from The Lawrence Hall of Science for the past 5 years.
