The Neuroscience of Emotional Regulation: Strategies to Help Anger, ADHD, Anxiety, and Autism

The frequency and severity of children and adolescent behaviors are more challenging than ever and are impacting student achievement. Teaching students how to manage their emotional brain and regulate their feelings are important in correcting reactive behavior and improving academic success. Using a model of the brain, an emotional thermometer, and an importance scale, along with other tools, educators are taught why students feel the way they do, what happens in their brain when they have strong emotions like anger and anxiety, and what tools and strategies will help them manage their emotional brain. Participants will learn strategies and interventions to help students with Anger, Anxiety, ADHD, and Autism improve behavior and increase academic achievement.
