As the Director of the California Coalition for Inclusive Literacy (CCIL), Shamryn Coyle works collaboratively with educators to address student literacy development through the lenses of inclusion, access and equity, using UDL as the foundation for design. She is a systems thinker, and is passionate about creating systems that will support the needs of all learners. Shamryn brings 23 years of experience to this work with a background in educational leadership, early childhood, elementary, bilingual, and special education programs as well as language and literacy development. She has spent her career working with historically marginalized communities and sees her work with the CCIL project as an opportunity to impact systemic change to create more inclusive and equitable opportunities for all learners. Relationships and authentic connections are at the core of her work.
