Developing Mathematical Thinking Institute
Dr. Jonathan Brendefur is the President of the Developing Mathematical Thinking Institute (DMTI) and is partnering with school districts in 8 states for math professional development. Formerly a professor of Mathematics Education, he received the Foundation Teacher of the Year award in 2019 and 13 grants ($18 million) from NSF, IES, NIH, etc. He built a seven-course graduate program for elementary teachers. With expertise in mathematical learning progressions, teaching, and curriculum, he has authored grants, developed a graduate program, and contributed to publications and presentations.
