Kim C. Williams, Ed.D. brings 28 years of educational experience. Kim C. Williams, Ed.D. brings 28 years of educational experience. She has served as the principal of Robert Shaw Theme School for the past 2 years. Prior to becoming the principal, Dr. Williams served as the assistant principal of Robert Shaw Theme School for 9 years. Dr. Williams views education as a lifelong commitment and works to ensure all students receive a quality standards-based education while addressing the whole-child. She earned both her Bachelor’s of Early Childhood Education (1995) and Master’s of Science in Individual and Family Life Education (1998) from South Carolina State University, an Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University (2002), and a Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Argosy University-Atlanta (2013). Dr. Williams also has Teacher Support Specialist (2001) and ESOL (2009) endorsements. Her 28-year career has afforded her the opportunity to work in various educational capacities -kindergarten/first grade teacher, reading specialist (K-5), DeKalb County School District (DCSD)- ELA trainer, DCSD Title I Instructional Coach, site-based academic coach, and assistant principal. As the building leader, Dr. Williams consistently works with teachers to analyze student data to enhance and improve instruction to support student achievement. She is hands-on with teachers, students and parents and has an open-door policy to ensure the success of all stakeholders.
